try that powerlevel ammo... which is the equivalent to .300RUM, 300 Win mag, .30-06,

personally I dont see why you'd want to shoot .30-06 levels from a .300RUM though.

you can use a recoil pad, along with a muzzlebrake, if a gun is too much though, get something more manageable.

Unless you're going after elk at long range, so unless youre going after big game at long range, or just big/dangerous game, why a .300rum? especially if its too much gun to shoot accurately, a .270 will kill a deer at 500yds without thinking twice.
