Get a used one cheap, or if you go new and plan to upgrade everything like I did get a Stevens as the action is identical but everything else is cheapened to cut the cost significantly. But you don't care if you just want the action.

The only reason I got this Savage was because a) it was stainless, and b) it had a 243 Win barrel and you can use a Savage as a switch-barrel rifle and I've always wanted a 243. So now I'll have two guns in one.
