Best use for that scope is to throw it at the guy that sold it to you. Get a new one. You can get a Nikon prostaff for about 150 bucks. Yeah, sucks to have to spend more money, but the scope is everything. Personally, a Leupold VXII is the deal, but it probably cost more than you paid for the combo.
