A .308 is a good deer gun, but myself i have a Remington Woodsmaster in .30-06, it has alot more smack down power, and is also a good gun for if you want to hunt larger game, dont get me wrong a .308 is plenty of gun for deer, but myself i prefer the stopping power of a .30-06, hope you find a good gun!
