Default Witnessed a Buck fight Yesterday

This probably does not belong in the black powder section. But i was hunting with my .50 Encore.

Yesterday afternoon at about 3:00 pm i was checking a big pond for deer and hog sign: There is a stand there. There was very little fresh sign and i started walking uphill to the truck. Heard a loud crashing and and shoving contest between two buck deer and ran to check it out. The wind was in my favor.

Got a several good glimpses of two big bucks fighting and they were locked up. One buck was a 12 or 14 point with huge wide and high antlers: His antlers were white. The other buck looked like a 10 point. They were about equal in size.

There was no snorting at all. Once in awhile there
was a clash of antlers. Apparently the bucks heard me and they staggered/ran downhill into the pond. They came out of the pond and went south into the wind through a small field and into some scrub oak brush that still has dried leaves. Tried to line up a shot but never could get one.

After them i went for about a quarter mile into the wind. Tried to cut them off a couple of times to no avail. i could seldom see those bucks after they got into the brush but the sound effects were awesome from 20-30 yards away. Finally they broke free and hauled off to the west.
