OK Paperwork is done and dinner is started. (Grilling some ribs, chicken and my daughter just brought over a steak because my wife called her to say I was grilling) So as the ribs start to par cook in the aluminum foil I'll start to tell the story.
First off posters that have been here for a while will remember I always touted the 265g XTP FPSP as a perfect round for something like an Encore because it was basically made for hunting with a .44mag rifle or long pistol. Not having a chronograph I rely on the mfg to be telling the truth on how the bullets are made and the powder co to give me a good estimate on speed. So before the shockwaves even came out I had switched to these flat points. Powerbelts were blowing apart back then at Encore speeds.
So my load was the XTP a Harvester green sabot and 120g of FF 777 loose powder.
The result was a complete pass through at the shoulders an almost instant death and a kill zone that looked like someone threw water balloons filled with blood at every tree 10ft around where I found her.
