Indiana - 45cal with .357 bullet and larger legal in rifle, 50cal with 12in barrel minimum in pistol. I believe smokeless is legal, as are scopes. MLs are legal in regular season. Our ML season is in December after general season, I cannot tell you how long it is because I've only lived here 3 years and hunted only one morning of ML season -- I ML hunt primarily in general season.

1 buck per year all seasons combined, which has given us excellent buck quality. I see plenty of really nice 8-10 pointers. A few monsters around but they are darn smart. Doe permits are managed by county, if you had permission on land in each county I imagine you could shoot a couple hundred deer. Around Indianapolis there are even more doe tags available.

Michigan was a bit more restrictive in that smokeless was not allowed. 45cal or larger with .357 or larger bullet in a rifle, .44 or larger in a pistol. So I own a cap and ball revolver that was a legal backup weapon in MI but is not useless to me in IN. Season was also in December but they've added some additional antlerless seasons since I left that I have not kept up with. Crappy 2-buck rule with 1 being 4 or larger on a side, meaning everyone drops the first legal buck they see then waits for "Mr. Big". So Mr. Big dies as a forkhorn and there aren't many Mr. Bigs around.
