I Guided in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area for a few years and as much as everyone thought it was the best job on earth it wasn't. Every other trip seemed to be like the one mentioned. It was just a glorified baby sitting job with one exception: You were 200 miles from civilization with these folks for at least 5 days.
While I would make the same decisions if I could do it all over again, it certainly taught me there can be a side to being in nature that isn't as enjoyable.
