I'd say there is something to your story - the same happened to me this past weekend. I shot a doe on Friday Afternoon - The shot felt good, but I watched her on her feet for 20 minutes (basically standing in 1 spot) before she slowly went into the brush. I decided to wait till morning, to look - Found here in 5 minutes Saturday Morning - Nothing too spectacular - but I was glad and releived.
But..... to get to your point.....
Sunday afternoon I hunted the same stand - and I had 4 new scrapes on the roadway food plot where I shot her and dragged her out to load on to a 4 wheeler the previous morning. Ones scrape was literally on the spot where I drained the doe's body cavity of blood before loading on the ATV.
I don't think it was all a coincidence. She was a mature doe - and I think the bucks were reacting to her scent.
