I believe the 3901 is pretty much the same gun as the 390 series with a frew cost saving features, like the 301 that Walmart sells. They cutback on a few things like the magazine cutoff and kept the price down by adding a synthetic stock. It should function and last just as well as the other Beretta autos which have a super reputation as far as reliability on the trap and skeet ranges.
