Sighting in/load development for new rifle
I have been pressed for time this year, and so while I got my knight vision with nikon omega ML about 6 months ago, I haven't taken it out to the range. With ML season approaching, it's high time I did so. I'm a little perplexed at how to both sight in, and work up a load for my rifle on one range trip (I may only have time for one prior to the start of season). I know, poor planning on my part, but it is what it is.
So, here's what I got. Goex pinnacle 50gr pellets, and t7 loose powder. t/c 300g shock waves, 300g xtp, and 240g xtp. Hunting whitetail in IN. I will probably start by getting the scope on paper at 50yds, then try groups with each bullet with 90, 100, and 110 grain loads of 777. I don't know that I should even mess with the GOEX this time around because I'm limited by time. Then, when I find my winner, go out to 100yds and zero the scope at that range, as I likely won't have any shots further than that where I'm hunting.
Any other suggestions. This is my first ML, and am looking forward to getting after it this season.
