Out of my Springer GI model 1911-A1, I've found that AA#5, Red Dot, and IMR 700-X gives me my best results with 230gr bullets of varying types. AA#5 also does a bang-up job on 200gr bullets as well.
I've also found that Win WST works well for lighter target loads, especially with 185 and 200gr bullets. It burns clean and has a very distinctive smell.
