Heavy, wet snow is likely across the Alleghenies through Saturday, especially above 1,500' and west of I-99.
An accumulation of only a few inches could bring tree limbs down onto power lines.
The rest of the area will see rain and some snow mixed in at times with some light accumulations possible.
In State College, National Weather Service reported there was 2.5 inches of Snow as of Thursday night.
This is the earliest in the year that State College has had snow for as long as records have been kept. The previous earliest snow in State College was one-tenth of an inch on Oct. 18, 1901.
