Default Pics from this afternoon's Mule Deer Hunt

I have one property in which I get to hunt on a limited basis that is primarily Mule Deer. This area is gets hammered pretty hard during rifle season. It is "buck only" so there are lots of doe, but the bucks are a little harder to find on a regular basis.

While Mule Deer are definitely different (certainly not as wary), they can be patterned just like a whitetail, at least in our country (ag fields as primary food source).

These pics are taken from a ground blind at the mouth of a draw that serves as a travel routed from bedding to a wheat field. The spike buck was the only "legal" deer I saw but wasn't what I was looking for. In addition, I saw a total of 8 doe and 5 fawns plus 1 whitetail doe and fawn as well.

I'll get to hunt this spot a few more times in the next couple of weeks and that will be it for the year as far as Mule Deer go.
