It is nice now that there are plentiful LED lights out there that if you want BIG light you are no longer struck using flashlights that require 2, 3 or even 4 of those 123 batteries which are about $9-10 a piece and when the batteries go dead they do so quickly that most guys thing their bulb burned out.
There is no "best flashlight" IMO. But I don't think you need to spend more than $20 for a really nice LED light. Many use very common and reasonably priced AA or AAA batteries and can really throw some light.
