First: WHY would you not believe mountain lions are making a comeback to their once existing ranges? Because no-one has a confirmed sighting; ie. dead body, pictures, ect.?
Given the explosion of the deer population (their main food sorse) and their nocturnal ways plus lack of hunting pressure, I can easly see them repopulating the east.
