I assume you will be selling the 30-06.
If you like bolts, then folks been saying good things about Tikkas; however, 7mm-08 per your first post is not one of their options. That leaves the 30-06, 270, 308, 7mmMag. If you get ANY of these, if " having the same thing as everyone else" bothers you then I' m afraid you are going to have plenty of company with those. Apparently, though you have good hunting success with the 30-06 yet you are looking for something less --- ooookay.

If target shooting floats your boat, then the .308 is hard to beat.
