Spot on! I don't use a headlamp though. I rarely even use a regular flashlight (red lense), but when I do, I only point it at the ground to avoid twigs, ect. I think a headlamp tends to shine through the woods too much. Once your eyes get acclimated to darkness, it's amazing how well a human can see without a light.
