I have had deer smell me, then bust out a snort and scare the bird I was working away. I am a firm believer of deer and turkeys paying attention to each other in the woods. So since then I make it a point to "smell" when I go out, like putting on some aftershave or cologne before I go out. Sounds kind of corny, But I haven't had anymore trouble with the deer. And smelling this way doesn't hurt when the wife goes with me either![}:]
