My brother and I were working a bird last year off the roost. The bird didn't seem interested at first, but after he had been on the ground for about 20min. he started responding more and headed our way. He was about 50yds just over a rise where we couldn't see him. At about the same time we thought he was about to show himself because we could here him coming a doe and a fawn pop over the rise. The bird had not spooked yet, but the deer had walked right past him. The doe and fawn ended up downwind, and you guessed it, they bolted right back over the rise straight at the bird. We didn't hear him again.
