Default RE: Hunters, what mistakes have cost you a shot at game?

Been hunting a lot of years-let me count the ways[]
1; Waiting in a stand along a skid road, can hear it coming slowly, but what was that sound off to my left? Just another hunter, but as I look back down my road there goes the back and butt of an elk-10 seconds later BOOM- and it was my distractions partner who shot it.[>:][X(][X(]
2; Elk running away from me,wait for him to turn for better shot-he didn' t-first saw him at 50 Yds.- next year bought semi-auto![]
3; very next year dropped elk on power lines-didn' t RUN fast enough to get my tag on it first![X(]
4 (a few years back) Partied to hardy the night before and fell asleep in the back of my (k) blazer as my nephews ran 3 bulls back and forth behind the truck![&:][]
5; let black bear go by forgetting the safety was on![&:]
6;Lets not forget-keep your weapon within arms reach while in camp!
7 If you do see some thing from campfire-SAY NOTHING-just take care of business![][>:]

How many do you want?
