The carrying capacity didnt change. All that changed was a move to a carrying capacity that was not skewed toward mismanaging to maximize only one species.
That simply is not true. We have more bear turkey and elk when we had 1.6M PSD then we did when we had less than 1M PS deer in 1980.
If really need the ridiculous deer numbers of the past to enjoy your hunt, If you want to manage the land like a a deer farm, buy some land and go to it. But dont expect oter hunters and the nonhunting public to put up with your warped version of "enough deer" any more.
So on the one hand you encourage hunters to buy land so they can manage it at high deer densities with zero regard for the effect on the adjoining landowner, while advocating that SGLs be managed at ridiculously low densities so DCNR can get their timber certified for export. That makes absolutely no sense!!
