Default RE: How do u get to be a moderator????/?

Hey guys I' m back...good to see everyone spreading the love around here while I was gone.

Sorry to not have posted sooner, since I moved into school on Sunday I have not had the luxury of the internet...I used a friends comp a few times to check email and post a few in the Off-Season room but haven' t been back in here.

And no mod is going to directly ignore a post I would hope, the thing is...I' m usually the only one who stops by the Young Hunters room, usually yall are cool and act mature, I just haven' t been able to get to this due to lack of the net.

As for Bauer' s question...which seems to be the thing keeping this thread alive, it seems to be a good theory of letting the members vote on mods.

But just so yall know, basically, we tend to pick people, and choose people we think will be a level-headed person, and use their good judgement when they delete and edit, lock posts. We also try to pick " well-respected" members to be mods, because if they aren' t well respected, we' ll have people chew on us and all that great stuff that makes message boards so awesome.

We' re not any higher up then any other poster, yall keep the board running not us. We' re just here to help it along a little, and at times, keep the peace. We were you once...and got elected to help out the admin some.

Deerslayer, nothing makes me more qualified then doog to moderate, I guess it' s just how it happened. And so you know...I' ve been on this board for more then a few years myself, and without all the board resets, I would probably have around 8-9,000 posts.

I don' t head into chat much, don' t really care much for it...that' s why I' m a board moderator...

If you have any gripes about any moderators, email the admin and they' ll read it I' m sure...I have all of the mods on my email, and I can honestly say that most of them volunteer time to this board to help out, and try their hardest to make honest, fair, judgement calls, and are good people, who love to hunt, just like you and me...

Hope all that helps answer some of yall' s questions...have a goodin.
