If you need to use a shot gun to hunt then the H&R Ultra Slug Hunter is the one you want. I have the deluxe version in 12 gauge and it is devastating out to 200y. I shot a buck last year ranged at 93y and dropped him in his tracks. I only shoot Hornady SST sabots. They are cheaper than most, but don't let that fool you. This gun/ammo combination is accurate and deadly. I do want to add that the H&R 12 gauge has a 10 gauge barrel that is bored for the 12 slug. This adds a lot of weight to the gun, but really helps with recoil. Hope this helps.
