300 XTPs
Well, I had settled on the 250gr Gold Dots after getting some advice in the past on this forum, but I've been waiting to finish up most of my 240 XTPs that I've been using. The problem is that the 250s are becoming very hard to find. I always had good success with the 240s until I started upping my load to 110 grains of T7. I have since backed down to the 80 grains that I used to shoot them from my old Thunderhawk and I'm back to decent results so far. I've also done better with shot placements and have steered away from quartering towards shots. I didn't want to step up to the 300gr Gold Dots due to the lower velocity I'm shooting and my average shots are 10 - 70yds. I'm starting to lean towards the .452 XTPs based off of feedback as well as the famous Randy Wakeman article on them. The .452, 240gr XTPs are a just a little tough going down my Wolf 209, but shoot great. I'm leaning towards the Crushed Rib sabots to help them along. Any thoughts or experience with the lighter charge and short distances with these?
Thanks
