I have a quiver full of rages along with a g5 striker. I tune my bow for the striker and have no worries with the rage. Ive had several different broadheads "fail" to do what I wanted them to. In all reality the heads didnt fail I just asked too much out of them. I shot a doe at a very severe quartering away angle. The arrow hit right at the last rib and the head didnt penetrated the rib cage until it reached the deers shoulder. Thats like 18+ inches it slid between the ribs and the hide. Lukily it did kill the deer but I switched heads after that. That was a muzzy 100 grain 3 blade. Ive also had a muzzy hit a deer shoulder and snap off with like 3 inches of penetration. Did the head fail, not really. Going through a big bucks shoulder/leg bone is a pretty tough task to ask for. I buddy of mine shot a doe with a phantom and the bleeder blade pushed back and cut through his arrow. Never found that deer. Ive seen spitfires deflect on impact. No matter what head you shoot strange things can and do happen. Are expandables perfect, no but neither are fixed blade heads. You just have to know your equipment, have it as well tuned as possible and know you limitations. Even doing that bad things happen.
