Default advice on new gun

After trying to get my H&R single 7-08 barrell to shoot with no luck I sold it.
I am going to buy another 7-08 and the reason I am choosing it over a 243 is because I handload and can get the 7 to shoot 120's faster and flatter than any 100 gr .243 handload and I like that. Plus I already bought a bunch of stuff to reload the 7-08.
Plus I have used a .243 for so long I want change, seeing I didnt get any with obama or the right kind anyway.
I am thinking about the weatherby vangaurd sporter or the savage classic.
But the savage comes with a 1-11.5 twist 22" barrell.
The weatherby has a 1-9.5 24" barell.
what yall think
and what do you all think about a winchester m70 featherweight in that caliber.
