Dave590, thanks for your input. i use a program called maptech. you can find it at www.maptech.com. you can buy cd' s for each state for 99 bucks. they are topo maps, 1:24,000. the thing i like about the program is i can print out the section of the map i want to use for any particular day, you can add the utm grids to it, make notes at the bottem of the map, etc. and they are actualy copies of your topo maps. check the site out to see what i am talking about. i have them from new york all the way to south carolina.
