Default michigan?

I've never personally seen a mountian lion, ever. Around 2004 the morning after returning from a several week trip to central Ontario my father said he had heard a cat behind the house. I thought it silly that is was something to bother comenting about. He replied it was a very large cat. Well Ive never known my father to have such a sense of humor. I was curious but left it lay.Aprox three days later channel 7 or four news out of detriot was broadcasting a 5 or ten second clip of what appeard "very clearly" a female mountian lion and two cubs walking through a soy bean field. They claimed the footage was recient ,and my return from vacation was 1st of july. The beans were about a foot tall then. It appeared the cat was about twice that at the shoulder. I live in washtenaw county mich, The footage was reportidly 45 min se in monroe mich. Also a large black bear was picked up on about 22 frames of a game camera in the middle of washtenaw county last year. to the best of my knowlage they havent been here for 140 years or so. Well just some fodder, but I like bigfoot to.
