This was my first outing in a long time.Range very busy so no real time to fine tune. Shooting off sand bags with rear of gun on shoulder no vice used. Weapons today T/C Prohunter Nikon Omega.....T/C triumph Nikon Omega......Rem 300win mag VXIII.
The Triumph's first time out used (2)777 pellets 250SW..Barnes 300XTP....Gun bore sighted and only shot at 50yds. Great gun shot tight groups. No problem with 777 fowling only put 10 or so shots thru her. Rem 300win mag thats my rifle so as always gun tearing holes at 100yds. Now to the show stopper. From the first time I shot the gun until today its been 3 pyrodex pellets and a 250SW. Thats what the scope hook up calls for. Well after reading many forums on here It seemed the 100gr was the average with a few using 130gr. So only having pellets with me I went with 100gr 777 and the same 250SW. As you see the gun made one hole at 100yds(3shots) just lower then I like. Now what do I do? Set the gun to shoot 100grs and reset the scope or keep 150gr. I always seem to get a flyer and its me not the gun. I might get a 150yd shot hunting but thats the max where we go. Hope everyones Labor Day was a good one.
