Now Cayugad, don't you go calling my favorite inexpensive scope "cheap".
Isn't that the truth about these scopes. I bought them just for something to be on the rifle while I decided what fancy scope I wanted to buy. Well I ended up liking the scope so much I bought a couple more of them when they were on sale. A straight 4X is plenty of scope for where I hunt around here.

ML Keith, I shoot the model 97 and of course the Bison is the same why with that locking cap and spring. I sometimes have the devil to pay to get that cap finally in, and get it started. I found that by putting the barrel muzzle on the floor (or ground on a towel) and pushing down, I get much better results. That's one reason I went to quick release rings. More room for my fat hands if I need it. I think Underclock suggested that a long time ago for me as well (about the QR rings that is).
