There are several different schools of thought on this subject, what works can depend somewhat on how well the gun is fitted to the body structure of the person; I always have to lengthen a factory stock. What works for me is to put the middle of the first pad square on the trigger [ I have seen a lot of people put there finger across the trigger on an angle it seems to go along with jerking the trigger] I also position my thumb carefully as I use the squeeze between the thumb and forefinger to set off the gun.
