I'm in Richmond, and hunt out in the George Washington Nat'l Forest.
I'm also originally from upstate New York
(yeah yeah, I know... I've been called a "Yankee come-here" 
). Anyway, I am still trying to decide about going back up to NY and hunt my sister & brother-in-law's 125 acre farm this season. But with the economy the way it is, and I can only get about 1 solid week vacation, I don't know if it would be worth it. Non-Res license for New York is now $140 bucks!!!
Not to mention cost of gas for a 10 hour drive up there.
Decisions...decisions...
