If you think you would like Mathews, but not their price, then take a look at Mission. Also, the Hoyt Tubro Hawk, same features as the Hoyt Alpha Max with a much smaller price tag.

Martin makes some great bows at a reasonable price, as does bear. I have never shot a Diamond before, but they are a sister company to Bowtec, so I would guess they are good choice as well.

The key is to shoot several bows from different companies, find the one that you like the best. Good luck in your search!
