Default Bore Sight / Max Adjustment?

I went to boresight my zeiss conqust to my weatherby ultralightweight MKV.

I have a laser bore sighter, SL100, that mounts at the end of the barrel, never had a problem before,

talley ultralight mounts...

but according the the boresighter I'm right at the maxes of the scope, elevation and windage...never before have I had to adjust much before, never hit bottom, I didn't crank on them, hit bottom, stopped, backed off a few clicks, got worried.

I'm hoping the .243caliber has something to do with a poor boresighting and not a bad scope/rifle mount.

I'll have to check it out on paper soon, hopefully I'm just being worried, and a poor scope alignment, I remember reading its bad to bottom out a scopes limits.

I guess I just have to go shoot it and see where it hits paper. Everything's mounted properly.

The scope has a 1" tube, never had 30mm come close to bottoming or needing much adjustment to get dead on and the bore sighter has always treated me right, but those were with larger calibers, .277, .308, .338

If there is an actual problem, what can I do? get a 30mm scope? Should've tested this all out sooner, worse case I'll have to take the .270 on the upcoming hunt and not the new .243win.

I'll go shoot at 50yds, hopefully I'll be "off" and have to re adjust more centered...

not sure I'm ranting or asking for help, but suggestions? experience with similar situation?

Thanks.
