RE: why is the ibo making up rule as they go
N23D,
I know that there is a lot being said about Red Alert and lightning, but I am not sure that is why the shoot was canceled. From my under standing if there is a threat of lightning with in a 30 mile radius the ski lifts are not able to operate. I never saw the lift shut down on Saturday. The way that the course I shot (L) was set up it was a safety hazard to begin with, so I don’t know that I would be praising IBO or Snowshoe until all the facts are out. If they canceled it because the course was too treacherous because of the wet/slick surface conditions then it was just poor planning. My biggest problem is that they could of done something to give more opportunities for the shooters at the top that would have had a chance to make up ground on Saturday to do so. They could have resumed shooting on Saturday and finished up on Sunday, they could of taken the top 10 to 20 scores for the shoot off or anything to make an effort to make this a legitimate Championship. I just think that it was unfair to a large majority if not all of the archer’s and neither the IBO or Snowshoe really seemed to give a **** or make any extra effort to make to situation better. I am extremely disappointed in the whole thing not to mention that it took them until 6:00-6:30 to post the results on Saturday and then the information was vague. I think they could of at least listed the course and score beside the names and done it in a timely manor so people could of departed the mountain at a decent hour.
