Try some oats instead. Just get to some bare ground with a rake, throw the oats, rake again to lightly cover the seed. 40 lbs of lime and 12 lbs of 10-10-10 per 1000ft2 if it is the first time planting anything there. A soil test would be better, no one else seems to like to do them.
