Default A Newby question...recurve cutouts

Forgive this compound shooters ignorance.

Cutouts/arrow shelves on traditional recurves are on the same side as compound bows, right? I mean: for a right handed bow the cutout would be on the left of the riser as the bow points away from you. Otherwise, the arrow would fall from the shelf as you drew and canted the bow.

The reason I am asking is that I have browsing Ebay and looking at traditional equipment. I shoot lefty. Some of the bows that are listed as "left handed" have the arrow shelves on the left of the riser and seem to actually be right handed bows. Are the sellers just ignorant of the fact that a right handed/right eyed archer holds the bow in the left hand???

Thanks in advance for the help.
