It's not hard for me to believe they would be in P.A. Thats a short walk from Canada for a cat.

Growing up in IL. you heard countless stories of people seeing cougars and black panthers. This was something that interested me as a young child. Now that we have had four dead cougars show up in the state I firmly believe we are close to a small breeding population. Granted that all four cats were males. 3 were young roaming males and 1 was a big male. He had probably been here for a while. They are in IL. and it's just a matter of time before there will be credible evidence in IN. and OH. as well.

As far as black panthers..... I can't say. Science tells us there is no such thing as a black cougar. Then what the hell is it? There is something out there. Way to many people have reported sightings not for there to be a large black cats roaming around. I will tell my story here. There were several reports of black cats in our county in IL. as I grew up. I had never seen one until one day I showed up at my parents and could see something black sitting in the field. What was strange was it was just sitting there and about 15 crows were above it circling around it and they were taking turns diving at it. This thing would get up and walk slowly about 20 yards and set right back down. The whole time the crows were after it hard. I could see it throught the binos and this thing was long. Had a long tail, low to the ground, probably only 2 foot off the ground. What I remember most was this thing was not jet black. It was more of a dark silver color. I got a great look at this thing as it took it about 10 min. to cover 50 yards. I'm not going to sit here and say I saw a black panther. I will say what I saw was a big cat and for some reason it had pissed off every crow in the area.
