Same thing happened to me with another "BIG" well known company. Just applied for a mortgage this week and the gal I'm
working with told me it is better to just pay off the card and NOT to close the account.( I had already closed it) It actually hurts your credit score more if you close the account rather than to keep it open with a zero balance. At least, that is what she told me !!
