I love the WSM; I have some older guns, but all the new rifles I've bought in recent years have been short-mags. I have a Weatherby Vanguard .270 WSM synthetic stock I use as my whitetail gun here in PA. Also have a beautiful Winchester Model 70 Coyote laminated stock, stainless bull-barrel in .300 WSM used for big game and the open ranges out west (the thing is a cannon; and I originally wanted it in .325!), and a .243 super-short-mag. Wonderful calibers.

I love my Weatherby .270 WSM; the Vanguard packages are an outstanding value and aside from the .300, it's the most consistent shooting rifle I've used.
