you know phil maybe it is just me but i kind of regret buying the land i did now. Maine is a beautiful state and i think they are chocked full of wild game. great bear a moose hunting if you pull the lottery for the Moose. i like the partridge hunting too. But for me as i believe i may have told you before the whitetail hunting their is very sad. It seems to me once you leave aroostook county the deer are everywhere. when i leave linneus i take the old rt2 south to get out of the state mostly for the scenic view. but when i get around Lincoln and orono etc i see alot of Deer all the time. even in peoples yards. i lived in northern maine for about 2 yrs before coming back to illinois. and in 2 yrs i only seen 1 buck. do u think tht Aroostook is that much different than where lincoln is in weather? or is it mismanagedment of the deer population with the buck only. i have never seen a hard Rut there either. My brother in law who lives and grew up there near new limerick says it is the moose population that has killed of the deer, and it seems all my hunting buddies up there believe the same way. what do u think i should do? Illinois we are spoiled i shoot a high class deer every yr with my bow. i do everything everyone tells me about the maine hunt. sit in the swamps sit along logging rds fresh cut still all i see is moose 100s of them. heck i even see canadian lynx alot no deer
