OK, so very few rifles, and fewer shooters even have the capability of hitting a 4" target at 1000 yards, so to talk 1000 yards and to do it, are two totally different things. Even to hit and kill a coyote, again 4" kill zone, at 500 yards is a feat in of itself. So let's be realistic and keep it at 500 yards and less, and at those ranges a .243 will be hard to beat.
