Default SteelForce

Hey guys it's me Dryridge. The system dumped me by forgetting my email and I couldn't get it straightened out....anyway I am now newbie Dryridge2 I guess.

Now, the Horton Steelforce has attained almost a cult following here in the hills of WV now that they are legal for upper body disabillities. Lots of old coal miners qualify.

Moving on, of course they are no longer made and must be found used. Well, I got one BRAND NEW from a pawn shop on Ebay.

I got it last week, bare bow, pin and peep set up. I finished putting it together and in 3 shots was in the X-Ring. I tore it up every shot after that out to 25yds. I had never shot one, just heard guys talking of using them and snatching them up when they found them.

Now I can see why. They are so lightweight and just seem to "fit", and shoot like a dream for the money. My only concern is power. They are a 16" powerstroke, steel prod, 150# cbow. It doesn't really bury my 20" carbons in the target like my 225# Horton XS Hunter or my sons 70# Hoyt. But, then again, I was looking for a lightweight, handy, non-scoped alternative to my "shagnasty bolt slinger" that is so heavy and unwieldy. I got just that. I really like it, I just have to have some confidence in it's ability.

How many of you are familiar with this little Crossbow? Anyone ever hunt with one? Can you give me the confidence it will penetrate when the time comes for a shot out to 25-30yds with a Magnus Buzzcut?

What do you guys have to say about the Steelforce?
