How many were girls Denny? Out of 30 kids, I think 8 of them were girls. Was kinda proud of one....there was a robins nest on the front porch beams. She had 4 young 'uns in that nest, all ready to fly the coop. While class was in session, I sat out on the porch and watched ma robin coax her first chick from the nest. It finally left the nest, and landed on the concrete trying to figure out just WTH happened. Took it a few minutes to get itself together, but flew off with mom.

Just after that, the class let out for a break, and one of the bigger lads went over near the nest and said he was gonna take one of those baby robins out. Just about that time, a skinny little young lady stepped in front of him and told him he was gonna have to go through her first. That boy backed off in a big hurry.

Gutsy kids we have these days. She prolly woulda cleaned his clock.
