The yellow
dots are fish caught over 5 poundes.
The light
green is hydrilla which is in 10 foot of water..I always think of Josh and m.t.hands..I know they would be jigging here
I plan to study the word/ cast a couple shiner rods in this place this morning. One of the 5 pounders I caught this year was the yellow dot to the left..I've lost 2 HUGE bass in here.in the past..all were in the area where the 3 dots are..The open cut there is only 3 feet with thick hydrilla..that quickly goes to the 14 foot area..This isolated pit is still part of Saddle Creek..there is no boat ramp so so far I'm only sharing this lake with one other jon boater that I know of and he is catch and release as well
Teh pit is about 175 yds long..and 60 yds wide..these are estimates...
PS Caught some nice specks/crappie in that 7 foot spot..The water here is different than the other parts of saddle creek. It's black / clear..we call this tanic..probably because of all the cypress trees growing along it's edges..Phil..this place stays shaded until about 9:00 very pretty place..Prettiest place at Saddle Creek..Gangly..water is very clear..horny toad did not work back here..so far the only artificials from best to least
Rubber worm ....missed a MONSTER probably a 12 plus
once when drifting a red shad worm down the middle in the 14 foot area....nearly broke my wrist..could not turn him
AND
once on a Fire and Ice Culpret..snapped my line like it was thread//this was in the 3 foot area where the entrance/cut is
Rapala ..dinks
Tiny Terminator Spinner baits up to 3 pounds.
