Has any one shot one of these? I have never had a Savage but found a Stevens 200 in .270 at Wally World for 255.00 and actualy like it. I like the looks of most Savage rifles. Especialy the 116SE they used to make. Looks like i could beat the crap out of it and still shoot it. I want to know how it shoots.
Ok, i have a stevens model 200 in 30-06. I am 16 years old and i took 2 deer this last season with my rifle. For the money its a good gun but if you compare it to better, more expensive rifles you wouldnt think its a very good gun at all. I was sighting in my gun and was quite surprised in the amount of kick this gun delivers to your shoulder. I then shot my stepdads 300 win mag( which should kick harder) and it felt like nothing. The muzzle hops around also when you shoot it. It will throw off the accuracy and make it hard to hit your target. In my opinion i would have rather bought a more expensive better quality gun because i can realy tell that the gun is very cheap. Obviously it works well enough to bring home two deer but i would still rather have a better rifle. Thanks for reading and good luck
