I just bought the 12ga slug ProHunter. I plan on shooting it for the first time next Saturday, I'll let you know how it goes. Im just trying to 2 types of ammo on the first day, Winchester Supreme Platinum and the Hordady SST. I havent found much info on good rounds for the encore.

As far as why buy a slug gun when you can muzzleload, I have an answer for my neck of the woods. I live in Maryland and yes, you can muzzleload hunt during any shotgun season which is exactly what I have been doing since I moved here 4 years ago. But there are so many lottery hunts on public parks and lands in this state and they only allow shotgun hunting for these hunts. I did not know this when I first looked into the lotto hunts and ended up getting drawn for 3 hunts last year....little did i know my Omega wasn't welcomed. These are high deer density areas where hunters are allowed 4+ deer A DAY so if you get drawn, your odds are good. Hence my big purchase of the Encore Slug was made just last week
