Default RE: 30-06 Identification

That's a sporterized model 1903 (not an 1903-A3) It's either a Springfield or a Rock Island Arsenal. It looks like it was done very nice. I have 4 sporterized 03's and 03A3's and all of them shoot great. In original USGI issue they will bring anything from $500.00 to $1,000.00 for your standard run of the mill rifle. More (sometimes much more) if it's all original (no re-arsenal) or a special issue like a National Match rifle.

As far as value goes, that depends on condition, muzzle and throat erosion etc... But assuming all of that checks out ok your looking at about $250.00- $450.00 unfortunately. I've put well over $3,000.00 of work into this rifle (not counting the base rifle) and I bet I wouldn't get over $1,000.00 for it on the market today. That's ok because that's not why I did it. I did it because I like to have something that is not like everyone elses....something different.

Good luck with the sale if you choose to sell it but you may want to re-think it. As these rifles become less and less available so do the sporterized versions as well.
