I had much the same expierence as Steve with my hip quiver. It' s on the rack in the basement now.
I went back to the bow quiver for my tree stand hunting and remove the quiver once in the stand. It also works better if on horseback using a scabbard.
I do have a Catquiver that I use when Im going to do a full day of stalking. I like the combination of backpack and quiver. It also makes moving quietly a little easier and keeps the bow a wee bit lighter. The thing is you can' t wear a Catquiver if you' re packing a stand in but that is not for which it is meant.
